                                      In The Mews

We are happy to announce that as of March 1st we have acquired the space next door to Bonanza. We have enlarged by 1200 square feet.   We needed to expand due to storage problems. We simply outgrew the existing space.   We do have plans that include a new surgical suite for Dr. Lemmon.  As many of you know on Tuesdays Dr. Lemmon performs spays and neuters for the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society. She also helps The Poppy Foundation, along with Dr. Steelman & Dr. Pierce, with our once a month low cost spay / neuter days. We are hoping this will make it easier for them to do their wonderful work.

We will also have office space for Dr. Steelman and The Poppy Foundation. In addition we are adding more cages for boarding. We have discovered that during the holidays we do not have the space to board and many of our long time clients have had to go elsewhere for boarding.

The Poppy Foundation is looking for volunteers to help take care of the cats and new area. We need people to clean litter boxes, brush, feed and generally take care of the cats.  We hope to have some handcrafted and cat related items to sell. Christy Santoro has been busy making jewelry and has had quite a success selling them. She has really put her heart and sole into her creations.  We would be happy to accept any items you would like to donate to The Poppy Foundation.   Susan Stickel has made us some wonderful pads for the cats and Connie Solomon has donated some beautiful handmade cat beds.  Chris Sitko comes by quite often with donations of food which is always welcome. Carol Swanson very generously donated stock to Poppy. Milton & Kim Gordines have placed a collection box in their bead store.   Of course we can't forget everyone who drops their change into our donation box. We really do have great clients.

We get asked everyday what items we need for the Poppy Cats.  We can always use towels, newspapers, clay cat litter & cat food.

The Poppy Foundation has had a wonderful 2007. We received our 501 (c) (3). We owe a big thanks to all of our generous donors. Without you we would not have been able to expand and run our spay days. We are grateful to you everyday.
